The choice of mechanical system
Firstly, you need to choose the type of mechanical system for the shutters motor: contained in the axis or in a dry duct.
The maximum depth of axis immersion is 55 cm. In the case of a different configuration, please consult us.
1. Motor in axis
This type of mechanical system is compatible with both renovation and construction projects.
As no masonry work is required, installation is straightforward.

To secure the shutter axis, there are two available choices:
1. With 2 pre-sealed components :

2. Dry duct motor
This configuration is orientated towards construction projects.
The motor drives the axis by means of a wall crossing which is lodged in a watertight compartment, situated beside the pool.
This installation offers the advantage of easy and secure access to the motor for any required maintenance.

It's advantage : No need for anti-flexion support up to 8 m

Fixation system
The two types of supporting beams use the same fixation system
1. Standard version, supplied with supporting beam : 316L stainless steel brackets to be fixed onto the pool wall (2 brackets + screws + O-rings)
2. On option : 2 pre-sealed components to enable the fixation of brackets to supporting beam.

Before beginning installation, it is essential to check that required safety standards and dimensions are met.
As depicted in the schema to the right, A distance must measure in cm :
For fibre supporting beams :
- 25.5 cm if the inner width of the pool is lesser or equal to 8 m.
- 30.5 cm if the inner width of the pool is greater than 8 m.
For stainless steel supporting beams :
- 5.5 cm if the inner width of the pool is lesser or equal to 5.5 m.
- 20.5 cm if the inner width of the pool is greater than 5.5 m.

Duct board choice
Concerning the submerged duct board, you have three choices.
1. Hardwood duct board
Specific design for this use. Featuring counterweights to stop buoyancy. A hook is attached under each duct board. The hook is inserted into a slit situated in the supporting beam during the installation process. This ensures the duct boards are securely held in place.
Hardwood duct boards are only compatible with fibre supporting beams.

2. PVC to be tiled or draped with reinforced PVC
Depth : 30 mm

Compatible with stainless steel or fibre supporting beams
The duct boards are supplied with limit stops unmounted. Once mounted, they clip onto the stainless steel or fibre supporting beam.
Our reccomendations
- If you choose to tile, we advise you to choose anti-slip tiles specifically for pools. You must use epoxy adhesive and joint cement (not supplied). Surfaces which are to be tiled must be "scratched" before application to ensure correct adhesion.
- If you choose to "drape" you should use reinforced PVC 150/100th with anti-slip treatment. To be soldered or stuck directly to the duct board surface.
3. Stainless steel duct board
AISI 316L mirror polish stainless steel (grade A anti-slip surface, Norm DIN 51097).
Depth : 35 mm

Only to be used with stainless steel supporting beam.
Check the diameter of the shutter when rolled before choosing the size of your duct board.
Shutter cover and slats
Length of shutter cover
Two solutions are available :
1. In the case that the length of the shutter cover is equal to the total length of the pool. A security system must be installed on the side of the axis and opposing side of the pool.
2. The length of the shutter cover is equal to the total length of the pool + the distance between the waterline and axis. A security system must be installed
- on the axis side if the waterline is greater than 20cm from the duct board
- opposite side of the axis
Details of the shutter slats
The slats of the Roussillon 2 immersed pool shutter with submerged duct board conform to the norm NF P90-308
Each slat is composed of 3 compartments. Each compartment contains air which ensures buoyancy and limits heat dispersion.
At the extremity of each slat, caps are soldered to ensure water tightness. 20 mm fins finish each element. These fins can be replaced by fins which vary in size, to fit your particular pool configuration.

Shutter cover assembly
- The shutter is assembled by clipping the slats together.
- To clip one slat to the other, begin by engaging the lower hook of the male fixture on the right-hand slat into the female fixture on the left-hand slat (fig.1 et fig.2).
- Repeat an oscillating movement till the slats click together (fig.3).
Stair cuts
When the Roussillon 2 immersed pool shutter with submerged duct board is positioned on the pool width, it can be adapted to several stair shapes : rectangular (1), trapezoid (2), roman (3), semi-circular (4) or free form (5) (after consultation with us).
Two finishes are available for stair cuts : Square finish (a) or shaped finish (b).
The straight cut is the most simple. The "shaped" cut is perfectly formed to the shape of your pool. This solution proves to be the most esthetically pleasing.

Security system
The Roussillon 2 immersed pool shutter with submerged duct board is supplied with an anti-lift system. It is essential to install a fixation system if your shutter is to conform to the norm NF 90-308.
We offer the choice of 3 security systems :
1. Supplied with shutter : Fabric loop and strap system
Easy to install under pool coping or to pool wall.
Colour of strap : white.
2. On option : ABS system
You can choose the ABS strap security system, to be fixed to pool wall or under coping.

Separation panel
A technical pit is obliged to stop all unwanted access to the immersed shutter reel. The walls must be vertical and parallel with 90° angles. The width of the technical pit should ensure the required space to allow reel rotation. The depth of the pit must allow the installation and correct operation of the shutter's counterweight system.
There are two available types of pits :
- A build pit, made during the pool construction (schema 1)
- A PVC separation panel (schema 2).
Packing and transport
Anticipate the required number of persons and adapted equipment are needed to unload and manipulate the delivery.
Conditioned in cardboard packaging if the width of the pool is lesser than 4.10 m.
Greater dimensions are conditioned in wooden casing.
All delivered merchandise should be checked with the driver.
